St. Paul, MN — Nashville is home to this year’s International Window Coverings Expo (IWCE), and local designers will be the stars of the show when the event comes to the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center from March 8 to 10.

Lori Paranjape of Mrs. Paranjape Design + Interiors is the featured lunch speaker on Friday, March 8. She will give a presentation titled “Mastering Social Media and Growing Your Design Business.” Paranjape works with luxury residential and new construction projects all over the country. Homes she’s designed have appeared in People, HGTV Magazine, Domino and many other magazines. She is widely recognized for her “new classic” aesthetic: a super-clean, modernized, fresh twist on traditional design. Paranjape recently launched her first collection in home décor, The Mrs. Paranjape Papers, a wallpaper line, with the lifestyle brand Mitchell Black.

Later in the day, Paranjape will join local designers Eric Ross with Eric Ross Interiors and Laura Thurman with Thurman Design Studio in the workshop called “From Nashville to National Notoriety.” Ross has a passion for Southern decorating that’s reflected in his design projects and his new book, “Enduring Southern Homes.” He believes all good design is informed by the past, and has built his business making traditional design relevant, livable and approachable with lush rooms that reflect the lifestyles and preoccupations of his clientele.

Thurman grew up in Los Angeles, graduated from design school in 2010 and set up her business five years ago because she saw an opportunity to design for other transplants to the Nashville area. She has won the “Best of Houzz Service” award for three years in a row. Spaces she’s designed have been featured on HGTV, Business of Home and The Cottage Journal. She describes her aesthetic as global and filtered through a modern lens.

The work of Lebanon designer Elizabeth Scruggs with Superior Construction and Design will be visible throughout the show because a home she designed is on the cover of the March/April issue of Window Fashion VISION, the show’s sponsor.

Attendees are encouraged to show their Southern spirit by participating in a cowboy boot contest during the show. Television star and producer Genevieve Gorder, who has participated in Nashville home makeovers sponsored by HGTV, will return to Music City to give the event’s keynote address.
